Email Whitelist and Blacklist

Published on : July 22, 2022

When handling emails, there are lots of opportunities for spam attackers to pollute your inbox, or in some cases, you may wish to allow only your organization’s users and not outsiders, all of which can be accomplished using our email whitelisting and blacklisting settings.

Follow the given steps to enable these settings:

  1. Go to Admin > Support Emails > Configurations.
  2. Here, you can find the options to add whitelist and blacklist for the emails.

Whitelist

    • Use the whitelist to allow specific users or domain to access your BoldDesk and submit support requests.
    • If the same domain is used in both whitelist and blacklist, then whitelist will be considered as priority and it allows emails.

Blacklist

Use the blacklist to prevent specific users or set of users to register and submit support requests. In blacklist, two types of actions are performed as follows:

    • Suspend
      • It acts as a soft block. This means that the emails marked in this category would be generated as separate entries as suspended emails. You can find the tickets in the suspended ticket view page.
      • You can be able to restore or reject these emails by manually validating them.
      • You can block all emails or domains using the wildcard (*) symbol.
    • Reject
      • It acts as a hard block. These emails are denied, you cannot keep any logs for these emails.
      • The wildcard symbol is not supported for reject case.
